Number of electric cars in Turkey makes huge jump from last year
The growth reflects rising consumer interest, supported by an expanding charging network and the launch of Türkiye’s domestically produced EV brand, Togg. EVs now represent 1.7% of the country’s total 16.8 million cars. In comparison, only 565 EVs were registered in 2015, with numbers surpassing 250,000 last month.
Hybrid vehicles have also surged. From just 23 registered in 2011, hybrids grew to 222,328 by the end of 2023, 391,269 in 2024, and 556,995 by July 2025, making up 3.3% of Türkiye’s total vehicle fleet, up from 2.4% at the end of last year.
