China plays vital role in global strategy of ZF Group
“For ZF, China is our fitness center,” Holdmann said in a recent interview, portraying the country as a challenging yet motivating environment that compels the company to continually improve as the auto industry moves toward electric and intelligent mobility. “It pushes us to train harder and perform better.”
ZF has been active in China since the early 1980s and has seen consistent growth in the region. Over the last two years, the company has significantly strengthened its presence by launching a new research and development center and establishing or upgrading 10 manufacturing facilities across the country. Currently, China hosts nearly one-third of ZF’s 161 global production sites.
Holdmann highlighted China as one of the few automotive markets still showing strong expansion, crediting the country’s fast-paced innovation climate, often referred to within the industry as "China Speed." He stressed the importance of the company's partnerships with domestic manufacturers, describing them as beneficial for both parties.
