IDF orders evacuation of central Gaza neighborhoods amid threat of attacks
On Saturday, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee shared a detailed map on social media platform X, highlighting specific zones marked in red as areas to be cleared. The targeted neighborhoods include Nuseirat, Al-Zahra, Al-Mughraqa, Al-Nuzha, Al-Bawadi, Al-Basma, Al-Bustan, Badr, Abu Hurayra, Al-Rawda, and Al-Safa.
Adraee claimed that these towns have become “dangerous conflict zones,” asserting that armed Palestinian factions continue to launch rockets toward Israeli territory from within them. He instructed residents to evacuate immediately to the Al-Mawasi area in southern Gaza, which the Israeli military described as a “safe zone.”
This latest order is part of an ongoing pattern since October 7, 2023, in which Israel has issued displacement directives accompanied by color-coded maps dividing Gaza into numbered sectors. These directives have led to widespread internal displacement.
Reports indicate that more than 90% of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents have been displaced at least once as a result of repeated Israeli military operations.
