Trump warns Iran with additional attacks
US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, urging its leadership to pursue peace or face even more devastating military action. His remarks came just hours after American forces launched what he described as “massive precision strikes” against Iran’s major nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.
The strikes followed more than a week of escalating violence that began when Israel launched a surprise offensive on June 13, including airstrikes and coordinated drone attacks reportedly smuggled into Iran months in advance, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
In a televised address from the White House on Saturday night, Trump stated that the objective of the U.S. operation was to eliminate Iran’s nuclear enrichment capabilities and neutralize what he called the “top state sponsor of terror.” He declared the mission a major military achievement, claiming that Iran’s key nuclear infrastructure had been “completely and totally obliterated.”
Trump labeled Iran the “bully of the Middle East” and warned that any retaliation would trigger even harsher consequences. “Iran must now choose peace,” he said. “If they don’t, future strikes will be more intense and far easier to carry out.”
The recent escalation began with Israel’s Operation Rising Lion, which it framed as a preemptive move to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Iran, insisting its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, condemned the Israeli actions as acts of war and responded with missile and drone attacks.
Iran’s Health Ministry reported over 430 fatalities and more than 3,500 injuries from Israeli strikes. On the Israeli side, officials reported 25 dead and more than 2,500 injured.
Trump concluded his address with a chilling warning: “There are still many more targets. Tonight’s were the hardest—and potentially the most deadly. If peace isn’t achieved soon, we will eliminate the rest with unmatched precision and speed.”
