Trump denies claim of funding Iran to build non-military nuclear facilities.
"Who in the Fake News Media is the SleazeBag saying that 'President Trump wants to give Iran $30 Billion to build non-military Nuclear facilities.' Never heard of this ridiculous idea. It’s just another HOAX put out by the Fake News in order to demean. These people are SICK!!!" Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
The denial comes after media sources suggested that the Trump administration had explored the idea of offering financial relief to Iran—such as unlocking frozen assets—in return for a freeze on Tehran’s uranium enrichment activities, according to individuals cited as being familiar with the matter.
Tensions between Washington and Tehran recently escalated following a series of US military actions targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. On June 22, the US reportedly dropped six bunker-busting bombs on the underground Fordo facility and launched a wave of cruise missiles at nuclear sites in Natanz and Isfahan from submarines.
A sixth round of negotiations between the US and Iran had been planned for June 15, but was disrupted when Israel launched coordinated airstrikes on multiple Iranian targets—including military, nuclear, and civilian infrastructure—on June 13.
The 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel concluded with a US-brokered ceasefire, which officially took effect on June 24.
