N-Korea wans about Trump`s Golden Dome
The defense system, which is revealed recently, is intended to protect the US from long-range missile threats through a layered approach. It would involve deploying interceptors, some potentially in space, and include capabilities for striking enemy launch sites preemptively. Estimates suggest the initiative could cost over USD542 billion dollars across two decades, according to projections.
In a memo released by the Foreign Ministry’s Institute for American Studies, North Korea labeled the Golden Dome plan as fundamentally aggressive. According to reports, the statement described it as a “malignant factor” contributing to increased global tensions and military competition.
The memo further argued that Washington's intentions go beyond defense, suggesting the US aims to extend its military presence into outer space. This, it claimed, would compel nations outside the US sphere of influence to enhance their own nuclear deterrents, seeing them as the only reliable form of protection. It also cautioned that allies such as Japan and South Korea might become entangled in future conflicts as tools of U.S. military policy.
A Korean press agency quoted the project as being “a typical product of ‘America first’, the height of self-righteousness, arrogance, high-handed and arbitrary practice, and is an outer space nuclear war scenario supporting the US strategy for uni-polar domination.”
In a related response, when asked about the Golden Dome, a Kremlin representative stated that every nation has the right to develop systems to counter threats. However, sources indicate that Russia remains firmly against the weaponization of space and actions it considers disruptive to global strategic stability.
