China Says Taiwan’s Ruling Party Supports Cyberattacks
This information was disclosed through reports by state-controlled media outlets.
According to the Tianhe District Branch of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, a hacker faction believed to be linked to the DPP conducted these cyber intrusions last week, as reported by the media.
Authorities in China claim that this group has habitually utilized open-access internet asset scanning tools to compromise more than 1,000 critical network infrastructures across over ten provinces and administrative regions within mainland China.
Chinese law enforcement emphasized, "Especially since 2024, the scale and frequency of this hacker group's attacks against targets within the mainland have significantly increased, with clear intentions of disruption and sabotage, reflecting extremely malicious intent."
This statement underlines the belief that the cyberattacks were not only more frequent but also carried out with the deliberate purpose of causing harm and instability.
Officials from the Tianhe District further indicated that the matter has been communicated to appropriate national entities.
The probe remains ongoing, and authorities vowed that the cybercriminals and those orchestrating the operations will be held accountable.
As of now, Taiwan has not provided any response to the claims made by Chinese authorities.
