Kremlin Blasts West for Slashing Missile Range Curbs on Ukraine
(MENAFN) The Kremlin on Monday condemned as "dangerous" the recent move by multiple European nations to eliminate range limitations on missiles provided to Ukraine.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned that if these reported decisions were indeed implemented, "they absolutely run counter to our aspirations to reach a political settlement and the efforts currently being made within the framework of the settlement."
On the same day, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz confirmed that Germany, alongside key Western partners, has removed restrictions on the range of weaponry being supplied to Kyiv.
Speaking at the WDR Europaforum in Berlin, Merz stated that range limitations on such weapons had been lifted: "neither from Britain, France, nor from us. Not from the United States either," he stated, noting that this change would enable Ukraine to defend itself by targeting military installations inside Russia.
