German Army Reveals Significant Air Defense Investments
According to recent German media coverage, Gen. Carsten Breuer, Chief of the General Staff, endorsed a strategic report on May 19 that outlines plans to boost the army’s effectiveness in countering aerial threats.
The report highlights the Bundeswehr’s top priority: bolstering defenses against air attacks as uncertainty escalates.
To achieve this, the German military will acquire advanced integrated missile defense systems, along with short- and medium-range air defense platforms. The plan also includes deploying unmanned aerial vehicles and developing countermeasures against drone swarms.
Additionally, the Bundeswehr intends to expand its modern air strike capabilities while simultaneously advancing its offensive and defensive operations within cyberspace.
