IsDB Joins Forces with IRUSA to Boost Global Refugee Fund
During the IsDB’s annual meeting in Algiers, the two organizations formalized their collaboration on Wednesday, aiming to deliver sustainable aid and empowerment to refugees and displaced populations across the globe.
The agreement was signed by Adil Alsharif, director general of the IsDB's Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD), and Ahmed Shehata, CEO of IRUSA.
This partnership is set to build on the momentum of GIFR, a fund developed under Islamic principles to offer ongoing financial support to displaced individuals, with a particular focus on IsDB member countries.
The fund’s first major initiative, the Regional Emergency Response Initiative for Sudanese Refugees, illustrates its commitment to tackling urgent crises through focused and effective programs.
IRUSA’s involvement will significantly enhance funding for vital services like education, clean water, sanitation, and shelter for those impacted by displacement.
