Iran discusses nuclear energy with US
(MENAFN) Foreign Ministry representative Esmaeil Baghaei stated on Wednesday that Iran has approved Oman's proposition for having the 5th stage of mediator nuclear discussions with the United States in Rome on Friday.
In an announcement, Baghaei stated that the Iranian political discussion group was firm in achieving and protecting what’s best for the nation together with its rights concerning the peaceful application of nuclear power, including uranium enrichment and ending the harsh sanctions, in addition to doing everything in their power to realize those goals.
Assisted by Oman, Iranian and U.S. delegations have had 4 phases of discussions until now since April on Tehran's nuclear project and the removal of U.S. sanctions. The 4th round happened in Muscat on 11th May.
In the last few days, U.S. officials have consistently called for Iran to entirely stop uranium development, a request which Tehran strongly dismissed.
