Russia shows off counter-drone warfare
In the footage, FPV drones are seen targeting and taking down various fixed-wing surveillance drones, including a Polish-made FlyEye model marked with Ukraine’s "Army of Drones" insignia. These FPV drones, typically designed as low-cost guided munitions, have shorter flight ranges and lower altitudes compared to the more advanced and reusable surveillance drones, which are considerably more expensive.
Last week, Rubicon shared another video reportedly showing an FPV drone striking a U.S.-designed HIMARS rocket launcher, which costs around $20 million.
Drones have become a central component of the ongoing conflict, with both Russia and Ukraine rapidly expanding their drone capabilities. Russia relies on its domestic arms industry, while Ukraine remains dependent on Western military support and funding.
