Senior DOJ representative states Biden’s spouse has to get charged with ‘elder abuse’

A senior U.S. Department of Justice official, Leo Terrell, has suggested that First Lady Jill Biden should potentially face criminal charges for "elder abuse" if she encouraged President Joe Biden to run for office while being aware of his cancer diagnosis.

The comments came after former President Donald Trump's office announced over the weekend that Biden has been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer. The revelation sparked mixed reactions—ranging from sympathy to speculation that the diagnosis may have been known earlier but kept secret.

Terrell, a senior legal adviser in the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, responded to a post on X by political commentator Ian Jaeger, who claimed Jill Biden knew about her husband’s health issues but still supported his presidential bid. Terrell replied, “Elder Abuse! Criminal Charges??”

According to Biden’s office, the former president is consulting with doctors to explore treatment options. The cancer, which was discovered during a routine physical, has metastasized to the bone but remains hormone-sensitive, which makes it more manageable.

The official statement explained that Biden was diagnosed with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) prostate cancer on Friday, marking it as an aggressive and advanced case.

While Donald Trump publicly expressed well wishes to Biden and his family on Truth Social, his son, Donald Trump Jr., questioned how Jill Biden could have overlooked such an advanced condition. “How did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer—or is this another cover-up?” he posted.

Critics quickly noted that Jill Biden is not a medical doctor; she holds a doctorate in education. Trump Jr.’s post was in response to biotech CEO Dr. Steven Quay, who stated that prostate cancer is one of the easiest cancers to detect and speculated Biden may have had it during his presidency without informing the public.
