UK, EU Impose 100 New Sanctions on Russia
The UK also confirmed efforts to push for a reduction in the $60 per barrel oil price cap, aiming to further slash Russia’s energy revenue.
On the same day, the European Union signed off on its 17th round of sanctions against Russia, part of a broader effort to compel a ceasefire in the Ukraine war.
Reacting to the sanctions, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Russia would not yield to any ultimatums, asserting that Europe’s true intention was to rearm Ukraine and prolong the war.
