Russia-China Forum Launches in Russia, Deepening Bilateral Business Ties
(MENAFN) The two-day "Russia-China Forum" began Monday in Khabarovsk, Russia, drawing over 3,000 attendees. The event brought together business leaders, government representatives, specialists, and academics from both nations.
During the opening ceremony, Dmitry Demeshin, Governor of Khabarovsk Territory, noted the ongoing growth in economic and trade relations between the region and China. He pointed to continued progress in joint initiatives across sectors like industry, energy, and transportation.
"In the Russian Far East, enterprises from both countries are working hand-in-hand to promote modern production and technological innovation, creating new jobs," he stated. "What we are building is not just a physical bridge, but also a bridge of trust, mutual understanding and shared prosperity."
Chinese Consul General in Khabarovsk Jiang Xiaoyang emphasized the strategic importance of Khabarovsk Territory, describing it as a key hub for logistics, industry, and technology in the Russian Far East with strong potential for collaboration with China.
Throughout the forum, attendees will take part in more than 30 sessions, including sub-forums and plenary discussions. These will cover topics such as the co-development of Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island (called Heixiazi Island in China), enhancing regional cooperation in trade, industry, energy, and transport, as well as fostering cultural connections and direct communication between business leaders from both countries.
The forum also includes a variety of events designed to strengthen China-Russia business ties, featuring investment promotion activities and bilateral business meetings.
