Think Tank Supports Spain’s Call to Address Gaza Genocide
“We highly commend the stance taken by the Spanish prime minister,” stated the Forum of Thought and Strategic Studies, a collective of Arab and Islamic academics, political figures, and human rights activists.
The forum also acknowledged the Spanish government and people for their “diplomatic and humanitarian efforts” aimed at ending the violence in Gaza and lifting the blockade.
The Forum stated that it “firmly stands in solidarity” with Spain's position and expressed support for Sanchez’s criticism of Israel's actions in Gaza.
The forum emphasized the need for a ceasefire in Gaza and urged global leaders, the United Nations, and international bodies to adopt Spain’s stance, increasing pressure on Israel to end its military operations and permit humanitarian aid into the region.
Last week, Sanchez made a pointed remark in parliament: “We do not do business with a genocidal state.” In response, Israel’s Foreign Ministry summoned Spain’s ambassador to Tel Aviv, calling the comments “severe” and demanding an official explanation.
