Forklift Elevator Plummets in Brazil, Leaving Three Construction Workers Dead
(MENAFN) Three construction workers died on Monday after a forklift elevator they were riding plummeted 17 floors at a building site in the city's Butantã neighborhood. The São Paulo Fire Department confirmed the fatalities.
The victims, aged 20, 26, and 43, were in a forklift elevator installed on the exterior of a residential building under construction when the incident occurred.
The construction company involved has stated it will await the results of the police investigation to determine the cause of the tragedy. The mayor of São Paulo, South America's largest city, expressed his condolences and verified that the construction project had all necessary permits.
