Ryanair Profits Decline Despite Soaring Passenger Numbers
The airline reported transporting 200.2 million passengers, a 9% rise compared to the previous year's 183.7 million. However, this growth in passenger numbers was offset by a 7% year-on-year decrease in average fares.
“The key feature of last year's result was the 7% decline in fares, which drove strong traffic growth of 9% to just over 200m," commented Ryanair Group's CEO Michael O’Leary. He further noted, "Total revenue rose 4% to €13.95bn. Scheduled revenue increased 1% to €9.23bn as traffic (despite repeated Boeing delivery delays) grew 9%."
Ryanair had previously revised its passenger target downwards from 210 million in January 2025 due to ongoing delivery delays from U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing. Looking ahead, the company aims to transport 206 million passengers by the end of March 2026.
