Lee Jae-myung Leads Polls in S. Korea’s Upcoming Third Election
Lee, a former human rights lawyer, is currently positioned as the frontrunner in the election, which was prompted by the removal of former President Yoon Suk-yeol last December. This removal stemmed from Yoon's controversial implementation of martial law. Notably, Lee narrowly lost the 2022 presidential election to Yoon by a mere 0.73 percentage points.
The Democratic Party also enjoys a higher approval rating, with 50.3% support compared to the People Power Party's 32.0%. The survey, conducted between Friday and Saturday, polled 2,007 voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.2 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
