Japanese Training Aircraft Vanishes from Radar

(MENAFN) A training aircraft operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) is believed to have gone missing from radar screens while conducting a flight near Inuyama City in Aichi Prefecture on Wednesday, according to several sources within the Ministry of Defense, as reported by local media.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m. local time, emergency services began receiving multiple calls alerting them to what was described as a possible aircraft crash. Callers reported seeing what appeared to be a plane or plane-like object plunging into a pond in the vicinity, a local broadcaster reported.

Initial reports suggest the aircraft had two individuals on board at the time of the incident, although their identities and conditions remain unconfirmed.

Police and emergency responders quickly mobilized to the scene and are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the disappearance. Search and investigation efforts are currently underway to confirm whether the reported crash is connected to the missing JASDF jet and to locate any survivors or wreckage.

Authorities have not released further details as of now, and the investigation remains ongoing.
