Pakistan Warns of Using Power if India Initiates Attack

(MENAFN) Pakistan’s envoy to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali, has firmly stated that his country will retaliate with the “full spectrum of power” if India initiates any military aggression or interferes with crucial water supplies.

His remarks come amid heightened friction between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, following a fatal assault on civilians in the disputed region of Kashmir.

In an interview with the media on Saturday, Jamali claimed that Pakistani intelligence services possess credible information suggesting that India is preparing for military action.

He noted that New Delhi has long accused Islamabad of enabling terrorism across the border.

“There are some other leaked documents whereby it has been decided to strike certain areas of Pakistan,” Jamali stated. “So that makes us feel that this is going to happen and it’s imminent.”

Jamali cautioned that any hostile action would be met with a powerful reply.

“We in Pakistan will use the full spectrum of power, both conventional and nuclear,” he declared, underlining Pakistan’s readiness to defend itself by all means necessary.

He further emphasized Pakistan’s stance on the Indus Water Treaty—a significant bilateral pact regulating shared water resources—which India recently suspended in reaction to the attack.

Jamali insisted that any move to seize, redirect, or block the water flow would be considered an act of war.

“Any attempt to usurp the water of the lower riparian, or to stop it, or to divert it would be an act of war against Pakistan and would be responded to with full force of power including full spectrum of power,” he said.
