Police Hold Woman After Two Children Die in Northwest Sydney Home
Officers responded to a welfare check at a home in Coonabarabran, a town situated more than 300 kilometers northwest of Sydney in New South Wales, on Monday afternoon, where they located the deceased children, aged 8 and 10. A 66-year-old woman was also present at the property and has been taken into custody to assist with the ongoing investigation, according to a statement from NSW Police.
NSW Premier Chris Minns characterized the event as a "tragedy," expressing that "the entire state was sharing in the local community's grief."
