ICJ Holds Hearings Regarding Israel's Obligations in Occupied Palestine
Based on a statement from the ICJ, the public hearings will address "the request for an advisory opinion on the Obligations of Israel in relation to the Presence and Activities of the United Nations, Other International Organizations and Third States in and in relation to the Occupied Palestinian Territory," scheduled to occur from April 28 to May 2.
The court added that "Forty States and four international organizations have expressed their intention to participate in the oral proceedings before the Court."
The hearings have attracted responses from a broad array of nations and organizations.
All submissions were made within the deadline established by the ICJ president’s order on December 23, the statement revealed.
The African Union was granted a special extension to submit its statement after the original deadline had passed.
The list of contributors encompasses countries from various regions, including Chile, Malaysia, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan, Qatar, Spain, South Africa, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, China, the Netherlands, Brazil, Egypt, Israel, France, the US, and Palestine.
Prominent international bodies like the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Arab League have also shared their views, based on the statement.
